Why use two monitors when one will do?
Post production and broadcasting work usually requires one monitor for referencing and another for editing work. With the CG232W it is now possible to do both tasks on one screen -- saving you money and ensuring there is no color mismatch between screens.
Editing and Master Monitor
This unique monitor offers multiple features that meet the various demands of post-production, including color grading, image evaluation and nonlinear editing for broadcasting. A button on the monitor's front bezel for switching between PC and SDI signals lets studio professionals do both video editing and reference (playback) on a single monitor.
Black Frame Insertion and Pseudo-Interlace
The ColorEdge CG232W's panel display frame rate of 120 Hz allows for black screen insertion (pseudo-impulse), which virtually eliminates motion artifacts and blur when showing fast-paced moving images. With interlace signals, a pseudo-interlace feature minimizes motion artifacts, giving this LCD monitor smooth motion picture playback akin to that of a CRT.
Predictable Color with Any Media
With content published on so many different types of printed and digital media it's critical to know how your clients will see color. A ColorEdge monitor and the bundled ColorNavigator software let you do just that as they are designed for both softproofing and digital device emulation. So now you can "predict" how color will appear to your clients whether you produce content for printed media like books and magazines or for digital media devices like tablets, smart phones, and notebook computers.
Brightness and Color Uniformity with DUE
Fluctuations in brightness and chroma on different parts of the screen is a common trait of LCD monitors. EIZO's Digital Uniformity Equalizer function corrects brightness and chroma uniformity errors to ensure the entire screen will be practically uniform at each gray level from 0 to 1,023. This ensures a Delta-E difference of 3 or less across the screen when the monitor leaves the factory.
Remote Control Console
For faster and more convenient adjustment of screen settings, the JC-100 remote control console is available for the ColorEdge CG232W. Powered via a USB connection to the monitor, this console gives you one-touch access to frequently used settings such as brightness, gamma, color temperature, blacklevel, RGB gain, and screen size. It includes a rotary wheel so you can quickly adjust settings to the desired level.
Dual-link SDI Signal Support
Input support includes BNC − 2 (SD-SDI/HD-SDI − 2 or duallink SDI − 1) for transferring uncompressed video signals, DVI-D, and D-Sub for direct connection to broadcast and studio sources as well as desktop PCs. YCbCr 4:2:2, YCbPr 4:2:2, YPbPr 4:4:4 and RGB 4:4:4 SDI signal formats are all supported.(SDI input signals).
Flexible Screen Positioning
The stand lets you set the screen to the optimum viewing position with 118 mm height adjustment, 40° tilt, and 70° swivel.
Commitment to Quality
While outsourcing production is now common practice in the monitor industry, EIZO continues to manufacture its products the same way it has throughout its 40 year history – with its own staff at its own factories. This allows EIZO to keep close control over production quality and offer the industry's only 5-year manufacturer's limited warranty.
Range Extension
A range extension feature gives studio professionals the advantage of using the monitor's entire 10-bit grayscale range to see more detail when doing fine editing work in very dark and very light tones. Setting the screen to show the entire 10-bit grayscale range reveals either 6% or 14% more gray tones from 0 (true black) to 1023 (true white) compared to common broadcast signal display range capabilities.
Preset Color Modes
The panel's wide gamut reproduces broadcast-standard color spaces such as PAL/SECAM and HDTV. In addition, preset color modes for Rec. 709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI, and sRGB are available at the touch of a button.
Verification Documents Included
EIZO stands behind the quality of the ColorEdge series by including two verification documents with each monitor. One document verifies the uniformity on 25 points across the screen while the other certifies that all 256 color tones on the gamma curve were individually adjusted at the factory.
Simple and Precise Calibration with ColorNavigator
The bundled ColorNavigator software makes calibration both simple and quick. Just input target values for brightness, white point, and gamma. ColorNavigator works with a wide range of measurement devices to directly utilize the monitor's look-up table and create an ICC profile within minutes. What's more, you can always download the latest version of ColorNavigator for free here on eizo.com.
3D LUT and 10-bit Simultaneous Display
A 3D LUT (look-up table) allows for previewing how colors will be reproduced on the final film print. 10-bit simultaneous display means more than 1 billion colors can be shown on the screen at once. This is 64 times the numbers of colors supported by standard 8-bit display, and virtually eliminates color and grayscale banding.
2K × 1K Signal Support
This monitor supports 2048 × 1080 signals which are compliant with the DCI standard. A left and right screen panning feature operated from the monitor's on-screen display menu (OSD) allows viewing of all areas of an image.
Customer Assurance
A five-year warranty offers a long service life, and compliance with leading industry standards such as TCO'03 and TÜV Ergonomics ensures a better working environment.
